For the Crust:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar, plus extra for dusting
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup finely chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sweetened condensed milk until smooth.
- Gradually mix in flour, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until a soft dough forms.
- If using nuts, fold them into the dough until evenly distributed.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the bottoms are lightly golden.
- Let cool for 5 minutes, then roll warm cookies in powdered sugar to coat completely.
- Cool completely on a wire rack and dust with more powdered sugar before serving.
