Sweetened Condensed Milk Snowballs

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar, plus extra for dusting
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup finely chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sweetened condensed milk until smooth.
  3. Gradually mix in flour, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until a soft dough forms.
  4. If using nuts, fold them into the dough until evenly distributed.
  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the bottoms are lightly golden.
  7. Let cool for 5 minutes, then roll warm cookies in powdered sugar to coat completely.
  8. Cool completely on a wire rack and dust with more powdered sugar before serving.
