Perfect Homemade Pancakes

A simple and classic homemade pancake recipe yielding light, fluffy pancakes, perfect for breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk or buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Whisk in milk, eggs, and melted butter until just combined.
  3. Preheat a flat griddle or non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Scoop 1/4 cup of pancake batter onto the griddle for each pancake.
  5. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown on the other side.
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite syrup or toppings.

Notes

Do not overmix the batter to keep pancakes fluffy; a few lumps are okay. Use buttermilk instead of regular milk for tangier flavor. Preheat griddle properly to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.
