Winter Wonderland Chocolate Chip Christmas Cookies

Festive chocolate chip cookies loaded with semi-sweet and white chocolate chips, decorated with holiday sprinkles for a wintery, Christmas feel.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Holiday sprinkles, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until thoroughly combined.
  6. Gently fold in white chocolate chips and semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Use a cookie scoop or spoon to drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  8. If desired, roll the cookie dough balls in holiday sprinkles before placing on the baking sheet.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a peppermint twist, add 1 cup crushed candy canes to the dough. Chilling the dough balls for 30 minutes before baking will result in thicker cookies. Use snowflake or holiday-themed sprinkles to enhance the festive look.
