Sweet Alabama Pecan Bread

A moist and nutty pecan bread with a hint of sweetness, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, mix buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just blended. Fold in chopped pecans.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
