Sweet Alabama Pecan Bread

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in chopped pecans.
  3. In another bowl, whisk melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
