Fluffy, buttery homemade rolls that melt in your mouth.

For the Crust:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp additional melted butter for brushing

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape into rolls and place in a greased baking pan.
  6. Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Brush with melted butter while warm.
