Seven Layer Taco Dip

A crowd-pleasing, colorful party dip with layers of refried beans, creamy sour cream and cream cheese, salsa, fresh vegetables, cheese, and olives. Perfect for gatherings and easy to customize.

  • 1 (16 oz) can refried beans
  • 1 (1 oz) package taco seasoning mix
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (16 oz) container sour cream
  • 1 (16 oz) jar salsa
  • 1 large tomato, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 1 small head iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 (6 oz) can sliced black olives, drained

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine refried beans and taco seasoning mix. Stir well to blend flavors, then spread evenly onto the bottom of a serving dish.
  2. In a clean bowl, mix softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Spread this mixture over the refried bean layer.
  3. Layer salsa evenly over the cream cheese mixture. Top with chopped tomato, followed by chopped green bell pepper, then chopped green onions, shredded lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, and finally drained black olives.

Notes

For a lighter version, use low-fat or non-fat cream cheese and sour cream. Serve chilled with plenty of tortilla chips. This dip can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated until ready to serve.
