Rich, creamy, and loaded with tender shrimp and sweet crab, this seafood lasagna is a decadent twist on the classic comfort dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 pound lump crab meat
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté until translucent.
  4. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
  5. Gradually whisk in milk and heavy cream; cook until sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Remove sauce from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, cayenne, basil, and oregano.
  7. Add shrimp and crab meat to the sauce; gently fold to combine.
  8. In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of seafood sauce. Layer with noodles, more sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers ending with mozzarella on top.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  10. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

For best results, use fresh seafood and do not overcook the shrimp to keep them tender. Allow the lasagna to rest before serving to set the layers.
