Philly Cheesesteak Fries

A savory steak, pepper, and onion mixture coated in a creamy, cheesy sauce all resting on a mound of crispy crinkle-cut fries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 2 cups milk, warmed
  • 8 ounces white American cheese, cubed
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper (white or black)
  • 1 pound ribeye steak
  • 2 tablespoons oil, divided
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced 1/8 inch thick
  • 1 medium onion, sliced 1/8 inch thick
  • 1 bag frozen crinkle-cut fries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and cook frozen crinkle-cut fries according to package instructions until crispy.
  2. To make the cheese sauce, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Gradually whisk in warmed milk and cook, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in white American cheese cubes and Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. Season cheese sauce with salt and ground pepper; keep warm.
  6. Slice ribeye steak thinly and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced bell pepper and onion; sauté until softened.
  8. Add ribeye steak to skillet and cook until browned and cooked through.
  9. Drain excess fat and stir cheese sauce into the steak and vegetable mixture until well combined.
  10. Place cooked fries on a serving platter and top with the steak, pepper, onion, and cheese sauce mixture.
  11. Serve immediately while hot and cheesy.

Notes

Use ribeye steak for best flavor and tenderness. White American cheese provides a creamy texture, but you can substitute with other melting cheeses if preferred. For extra crispiness, bake fries separately before assembling.
