Pear Gorgonzola Flatbread

A delicious and elegant flatbread featuring sweet pears, tangy gorgonzola cheese, and a hint of balsamic glaze, perfect for appetizers or a light meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 flatbread (about 8×15) or a round pizza crust (thin)
  • ½ cup gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
  • 1 medium ripe pear, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons fig jam
  • 2 tablespoons sliced green onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Place a pizza stone in the oven if available; otherwise, use a cookie sheet.
  2. Brush the flatbread with olive oil.
  3. Heat the fig jam in the microwave until it is slightly liquified, then brush it onto the flatbread, leaving some chunks.
  4. Arrange the pear slices on top of the flatbread.
  5. Sprinkle the crumbled gorgonzola cheese over the pears.
  6. Sprinkle sliced green onions over the cheese.
  7. Season with salt and pepper.
  8. Place the flatbread on the pizza stone or cookie sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes, until the crust is crispy.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, try using a balsamic glaze drizzle after baking. Substitute goat cheese or feta for gorgonzola if preferred. Use a mandolin for thin, even pear slices.
