Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 12 lasagna noodles, cooked according to package instructions
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup ricotta cheese (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, brown ground beef with diced onion and minced garlic. Add Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until beef is fully browned; drain excess fat.
  4. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
  5. Gradually whisk in whole milk, stirring constantly until sauce thickens.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to make Parmesan garlic sauce.
  7. Spread a thin layer of Parmesan garlic sauce on the bottom of the baking dish.
  8. Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  9. Spread half of the cooked beef mixture over noodles, then sprinkle with half of the crumbled bacon.
  10. Add dollops of ricotta cheese (if using), then sprinkle with mozzarella and cheddar cheeses.
  11. Pour some Parmesan garlic sauce over the cheese layer.
  12. Repeat layers: noodles, remaining beef, bacon, cheeses, and sauce.
  13. Top with remaining noodles, sauce, and cheeses.
  14. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  15. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  16. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

For best results, use freshly cooked lasagna noodles and allow the lasagna to rest after baking to set the layers. Ricotta cheese is optional but adds creaminess. Adjust seasoning to taste, especially salt and pepper.
