For the Crust:
- 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix peaches, 1 cup sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Pour into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in melted butter and milk until just combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of batter over the peaches. Spread gently to cover most of the surface.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.
