Honey Garlic Shrimp, Sausage, and Broccoli

A flavorful and satisfying meal featuring shrimp, kielbasa sausage, and tender broccoli coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce with a hint of spice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ⅓ cup honey (133 g)
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce (85 g)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled, deveined, tails removed
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, divided
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
  • 1 ring (13 ounces) kielbasa sausage, sliced into ½-inch rounds
  • Cooked white rice, for serving
  • Parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes to make the sauce.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the kielbasa slices and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the broccoli florets and cook for about 5 minutes until tender-crisp. Remove and set aside with the sausage.
  4. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil to the skillet. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2 minutes per side.
  5. Return the sausage and broccoli to the skillet with the shrimp. Pour the honey garlic sauce over everything and toss to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and everything is heated through.
  6. Serve hot over cooked white rice and garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, you can add a cornstarch slurry (1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water) during the final cooking step. Adjust honey amount to taste if monitoring sugar intake. Andouille sausage can be used for a spicier variation.
