For the Crust:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup salted caramel sauce
1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
Press 2/3 of the cookie dough into the prepared pan. Drizzle caramel sauce evenly over the dough. Drop remaining dough by spoonfuls over the caramel layer. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
