For the Crust:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup salted caramel sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Press 2/3 of the cookie dough into the prepared pan. Drizzle caramel sauce evenly over the dough. Drop remaining dough by spoonfuls over the caramel layer. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
