A comforting one-pot dish featuring ground beef, orzo pasta, and a rich tomato cream sauce.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Stir in garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour in crushed tomatoes and beef broth. Bring to a simmer, then stir in orzo. Cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Uncover and stir in heavy cream. Cook for another 5 minutes until orzo is tender and sauce has thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.
