Garlic Butter Lobster Tails

Juicy broiled lobster tails basted with a rich garlic butter sauce made with melted butter, fresh garlic, parsley, lemon juice, and herbs for a flavorful, tender seafood dish perfect for special occasions.

  • 4 lobster tails (56 oz each)
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (1 stick)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced or grated
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to broil on high with rack in upper third. Use kitchen shears to cut down the top shell of each lobster tail lengthwise, pull back shell, and lift meat over top without detaching from base. Place on a baking sheet.
  2. Mix ¼ tsp each paprika, Old Bay, salt, plus garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper if desired; sprinkle over lobster tails.
  3. Combine melted butter, garlic, parsley, lemon juice, remaining paprika, Old Bay, and salt to make garlic butter sauce. Brush tails generously with some sauce.
  4. Broil for 8-10 minutes until meat is opaque, firm, and internal temperature reaches 140-145°F. Brush with more sauce halfway through if desired. Serve with reserved sauce and lemon wedges.

Notes

Butterfly the tails carefully to avoid overcooking the meat. Watch closely under broiler to prevent burning. For extra flavor, reserve some garlic butter for dipping. Use fresh lobster tails for best results.
