Easy Hamburger Potato Casserole

A hearty and comforting casserole with ground beef, potatoes, and cheese.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish. Top with half of the beef mixture and half of the soup mixture. Repeat layers.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle with cheese, and bake for another 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
