Easy Crème Brûlée Cookies

Soft, buttery cookies with a crackly caramelized sugar topping that captures the essence of classic crème brûlée.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup coarse sugar or additional granulated sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolks and vanilla.
  3. Gradually mix in flour and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Scoop dough into 1-inch balls, roll in coarse sugar, and place on baking sheets. Flatten slightly.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Let cool on sheet for 5 minutes before transferring.
