Easy Caramel Pecan Turtle Bars

Deliciously rich and gooey caramel pecan turtle bars with a buttery shortbread crust, perfect for dessert or a sweet treat.

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, butter, and sugar until crumbly. Press evenly into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake the crust for 15 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from oven and sprinkle pecans over the crust.
  4. In a saucepan, melt caramel candies with heavy cream over low heat, stirring until smooth. Pour caramel over the pecans.
  5. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the caramel layer. Return to the oven for 5 minutes to melt the chocolate. Spread evenly with a spatula.
  6. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
