Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups cooked, shredded chicken (about 3 large breasts)
  • 1 box (6 oz) stuffing mix (e.g., Stove Top)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  2. In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Spread the chicken mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a medium bowl, toss the stuffing mix with melted butter until evenly coated.
  5. Gradually add chicken broth to the stuffing mix, stirring until moist but not soggy.
  6. Evenly spread the stuffing mixture over the chicken layer, covering completely but without pressing down firmly.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the top is golden brown and crispy and edges are bubbling.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving to allow it to set.

Notes

This casserole is a perfect make-ahead meal that combines the flavors of a classic chicken dinner with stuffing. Letting it rest before serving helps it hold together for easier slicing and serving. You can customize the seasoning to your taste or add vegetables for extra nutrition.
