Deep-Fried Turkey Bacon Cheeseburger Corn Dogs

A creative twist on classic corn dogs combining turkey bacon, cheeseburger flavors, and a crispy deep-fried cornmeal batter for a savory, indulgent snack or meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 hot dog buns or skewers
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine milk and egg, then stir into dry ingredients until smooth.
  4. Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
  5. Wrap each cooked beef portion with a slice of turkey bacon and a slice of cheddar cheese, then skewer or place on a stick.
  6. Dip each bacon-wrapped cheeseburger skewer into the batter, coating completely.
  7. Carefully place coated skewers into hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes, turning as needed.
  8. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels before serving.

Notes

Use a candy thermometer to maintain oil temperature for even frying. For best results, drain excess oil on paper towels to keep corn dogs crispy. You can substitute turkey bacon with regular bacon if preferred.
