Crispy Oven Fried Chicken Delight

A healthier twist on classic fried chicken, this oven-baked version delivers the same crispy, flavorful coating with less oil.

For the Crust:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place chicken breasts in a bowl and cover with buttermilk. Let soak for at least 15 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour, panko, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then coat thoroughly in the flour mixture.
  5. Place coated chicken on the prepared baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
