Creamy Ritz Cracker Chicken Casserole

A creamy, rich chicken filling mixed with sour cream and cream of chicken soup, topped with a buttery, crunchy Ritz cracker crust. This casserole is a comforting, easy-to-make family favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups cooked and shredded chicken
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 10.5 ounces cream of chicken soup
  • 1 ½ sleeves Ritz crackers, crushed
  • ½ cup butter (1 stick), melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine sour cream, cream of chicken soup, and shredded chicken. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, mix the crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter.
  4. Sprinkle the cracker mixture evenly over the chicken mixture.
  5. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes or until the cracker topping is golden brown and the casserole is heated through.
  6. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a little extra flavor, add ½ teaspoon garlic powder or ½ cup sliced green onions to the chicken mixture. Use rotisserie chicken to save time. Letting the casserole rest before serving helps the topping set and enhances texture.
