Creamy Ritz Cracker Chicken Casserole

A creamy and delicious chicken casserole topped with a crunchy Ritz cracker crust, perfect for a comforting family meal.

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spray a 2.5-quart baking dish or 9×9 square baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and chopped green onions.
  4. Stir in the shredded chicken until well combined.
  5. Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. In the same bowl, combine the crushed Ritz crackers with the melted butter.
  7. Sprinkle the cracker mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cracker topping is golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite vegetable or salad.

Notes

Using shredded chicken works best for even distribution and texture, but cut-up chicken pieces can be used if preferred. For extra crunch, add more crushed Ritz crackers on top before baking. This casserole pairs well with steamed vegetables or a fresh salad.
