For the Crust:
- 1 9-inch pie crust, unbaked
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gradually whisk in milk until fully combined.
- Pour the custard mixture into the unbaked pie crust.
- Sprinkle nutmeg evenly over the top.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for another 25-30 minutes or until the center is set.
- Let cool completely before serving.
