Cheesy Baked Cauliflower

A delicious and comforting dish featuring tender cauliflower baked in a rich, cheesy sauce.

For the Crust:

  • 1 large head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Steam or boil cauliflower florets until just tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain well and arrange in the baking dish.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until cheese is melted.
  6. Pour cheese sauce over cauliflower in the baking dish. Sprinkle breadcrumbs evenly on top.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown on top.
