Cinnamon Donut Bread

A deliciously moist and fluffy bread with the sweet, spiced flavors of cinnamon donuts.

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat softened butter and 3/4 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  4. Alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour.
  5. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Pour half the batter into the loaf pan. Sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter. Repeat with remaining batter and cinnamon sugar.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Brush the top with melted butter while still warm. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
