For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat softened butter and 3/4 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour.
- In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon.
- Pour half the batter into the loaf pan. Sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter. Repeat with remaining batter and cinnamon sugar.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Brush the top with melted butter while still warm. Let cool before slicing.
