For the Crust:
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix cake mix, water, oil, and eggs until well combined. Divide batter evenly between the prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cakes cool completely.
- Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread half of the caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle with half of the pecans.
- Place the second cake layer on top. Heat the heavy cream until just boiling, then pour over chocolate chips. Let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth.
- Pour ganache over the top of the cake, allowing it to drizzle down the sides. Drizzle remaining caramel sauce and sprinkle remaining pecans on top.
