Chocolate Turtle Dream Cake

A decadent chocolate cake layered with caramel, pecans, and chocolate ganache for the ultimate indulgence.

For the Crust:

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, water, oil, and eggs. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  3. Divide batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  4. Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread half of the caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle with half of the pecans.
  5. Top with the second cake layer. Spread remaining caramel sauce and pecans over the top.
  6. In a small saucepan, heat heavy cream until steaming. Pour over chocolate chips in a bowl. Let sit for 1 minute, then stir until smooth.
  7. Pour ganache over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides. Let set before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
