Chocolate Pecan Ooey Gooey Butter Cake

A rich and decadent dessert with a chocolate pecan layer on top of a buttery cake base.

For the Crust:

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix cake mix, 1 egg, and melted butter until combined. Press into the bottom of the prepared dish.
  3. In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add 2 eggs and vanilla, mixing well. Gradually beat in powdered sugar and cocoa powder until smooth.
  4. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cake layer. Sprinkle chopped pecans evenly on top.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until edges are set but the center is slightly gooey. Let cool before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
