Easy Cheese Sauce for Fries

A super creamy cheese sauce made with Velveeta that is perfect for topping your favorite fries.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups frozen French fries (your choice of style)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 cup half and half
  • 3/4 cup cubed Velveeta (6 ounces)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fries according to package directions.
  2. While the fries are cooking, melt the butter in a medium pot over medium heat.
  3. Stir in flour until well combined.
  4. Whisk in half and half and bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Stir in cheese and keep stirring until it is melted and smooth.
  6. Place fries on a platter or individual plates.
  7. Pour cheese sauce over the top and dig in!

Notes

Velveeta is essential for a creamy, melty sauce due to its milk, whey, and emulsifiers. Whole milk can substitute half and half if needed. Rippled fries work best to hold the cheese sauce but any style is fine.
