Mouthwatering Caramel Apple Cake

A deliciously moist apple cake drizzled with homemade caramel sauce, perfect for fall or any occasion.

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour.
  5. Fold in diced apples. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let cake cool for 10 minutes in pan, then transfer to a wire rack. Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
