Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded medium cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup crushed buttery crackers or breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter a 2-quart casserole dish.
  2. In a bowl, combine shrimp with mayonnaise, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir until shrimp are evenly coated.
  3. Add half of the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses to the shrimp mixture and stir until well incorporated.
  4. Transfer the shrimp mixture to the prepared casserole dish and spread evenly.
  5. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with crushed crackers or breadcrumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the buttery cracker mixture evenly over the shrimp mixture.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
  8. Optional: Broil for 2-3 minutes to achieve a crispier topping if desired.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Using real mayonnaise makes the shrimp filling creamy and rich. For a crispier topping, broil the casserole for a few minutes at the end of baking. You can adjust the cheese types and amounts to your preference.
