For the Crust:
2 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and cored
2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 cup unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 can (12 oz) Mountain Dew soda
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Cut each apple into 8 wedges. Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles. Wrap each apple wedge in a crescent dough triangle, starting at the wider end. Place in the baking dish.
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until well combined. Pour the mixture evenly over the dumplings.
Pour the Mountain Dew around the edges of the baking dish (not directly over the dumplings).
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.
