Banana Walnut Dream Cake

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in mashed bananas and vanilla.
  4. Alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk to the banana mixture, beginning and ending with the flour. Fold in chopped walnuts.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool before serving.
