Baked Pears with Berries, Honey, Walnuts & Blue Cheese

A delicious and healthy dessert featuring baked pears topped with a mix of berries, honey, walnuts, and blue cheese for a perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors.

  • 2 ripe pears, halved and cored
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 cup mixed berries (such as raspberries, blueberries, or strawberries)
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
  • 2 tablespoons crumbled blue cheese
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, to prevent browning)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Place pear halves on a baking sheet, cut side up. Drizzle each half with honey and a squeeze of lemon juice if using.
  3. Bake pears for 15-20 minutes, or until tender but not mushy.
  4. Remove from oven and top each pear half with a spoonful of mixed berries, a sprinkle of toasted walnuts, and crumbled blue cheese.
  5. Serve warm, optionally drizzled with a little extra honey.

Notes

For a sweeter version, add a pinch of cinnamon before baking. Toasting the walnuts enhances their flavor. This dish can also be served as an appetizer by reducing the honey and adding a balsamic glaze.
