Baked Beans and Ground Beef Casserole

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 can (28 ounces) baked beans
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until beef is no longer pink; drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in baked beans, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well and heat through.
  4. Transfer mixture to a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  6. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a dash of smoked paprika or chili powder. This casserole pairs well with a simple green salad or steamed vegetables.
