Apple Crumble

A classic dessert with tender spiced apples topped with a buttery crumble.

For the Crust:

  • 4 large apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix sliced apples with granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Transfer to a baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, oats, and brown sugar. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the apples.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes or until the topping is golden and the apples are tender.
